Please remember that I - and others - created these files to help my/our understanding of CX procedures: if they work for you, that's great. Feel free to mess with them ad nauseam. Pass them on as you wish. But please respect their authorship. Please also read the CX disclaimer at Vol 1 2-1-6 para 13. If you do not want the file to open inside the web browser, for MS IE users, right click on the hyperlink then select "Save Target As.." - for Mac OS users, hold Ctrl and clicking the link simultaneously, choose "Download File to Disk" and save the image to your hard drive. |

GCSE - kids doing these exams? Here's a crib of most common formulae |

While I agree that we need to do something about the air quality, personally I do not think wind power is an answer. With wind power capacity factors only up to 45% with the need for spinning reserves, electricity costs 7.2p/kWh compared with 2.2 for gas-fired CCGT. 140 2.3MW turbines covering 30 sq miles at Whitelee will produce an installed capacity of 322MW; 7% of the output of a nuclear plant that would need 3.5% of the area, ignoring the need for spinning reserve! In 2003, the most recent year for which figures are available, America's power-generation industry spent less on R&D as a proportion of turnover than did the country's pet-food industry.
